My grandfather Luciano was an engraver who knew patience well, the friend and companion of every good artisan who seeks to create a Made-in-Italy jewel that respects the fundamental canons of Italian tradition: art, a love for detail, the history from which we come and that teaches us so much, and respect for the end customer who will wear one of our creations. Since 1934 EREDI JOVON sale point is located on the Rialto bridge in Venice where you can still meet the owner GABRIELLA and her sons Marco and Alessio. It all begins with the engraving, which still utilizes traditional gravers; through patient, deliberate work, they “bring out” the cameo hidden within each gemstone or shell—something only a skilled artist can truly achieve. Now I would like to tell you about the materials we use to create our works of art. Let’s start with the stones and shells from which we first craft the true star of our rings: the hand-carved cameo. Artisanal craftsmanship finds its true essence here, because beginning with highly selected shells and stones, we bring the finest materials to our workshop benches, ready to be shaped by expert—and, I emphasize, patient—hands! The Mounting Step: Gold and Silver
Once the cameo is complete, the jewel passes into the skilled hands of Marco, Ciro, and Uncle Nunzio, who for sixty years have safeguarded the secrets of “know-how” with their passion. Just as the one who carves the cameo is an artist, so too is the artisan who knows how to set it into a ring. Every cameo ring in gold or silver is worked by hand on the individual stone, so there will never be two pieces that are exactly alike; each will always be a unique jewel.

But I do not know the ideal size for my ring. No problem: for the cameo size, we offer different cameo dimensions, and these sizes are detailed in the product description. Cameo Ring Care and Cleaning
How should you care for your cameo jewelry? First of all, I would recommend wearing it regularly while avoiding washing your hands with the ring on or exposing it to creams and acidic substances (such as dish detergent). For routine cleaning, we suggest using a soft cloth, taking great care not to touch the cameo itself. In truth, over time the cameo will collect a bit of dust, which will enhance the contrast of the carving and give it a patina that only time (the master of truth, as my grandfather used to say) can bestow.
