To be picky Tutankhamun’s funerary mask is partially made with colored glass paste and to be honest isn’t the Pharaoh’s cartouche the primordial intaglio, the first prototype for a signet ring?

Intaglio jewelry in glass, for us, takes it roots in the ancient Roman Empire, so it naturally talks about gods, myths and legends of our ancestors: Medusa and Perseus, Mercury and Venus, Ajax, Ulysses, Achilles and the Trojan war. Nino Tagliamonte knows deeply the history and legends behind roman intaglios and their relation to glyptic (the art of engraving cameos)

The traditional Venetian glass Intaglio jewelry meets the myth with a gorgeous Medusa ring in yellow gold, embraces the Olympus into the lap of the gods with a stunning Mercury intaglio pendant, comes back to the hearth with Ulysses’s human smartness with a great pair of Tagliamonte earrings made in collaboration with us in Venice.
